About BackDown
BackDown was established exactly on September 19, 2009: In Escola Santa Anna school from Mataró agreed Marcos Franz, Quim Nicolau and Manu Roca. Previously they known by sight, but in 3 º ESO they met together in technology classes. They worked together at school not knowing they were musicians, and much less, they would play together.
One day, Marcos, walking around on a music store called Musical Mataró, saw Manu Roca: "I felt at that moment that we would play together ... I didn't know how or when, but I knew we would play together in a rock band." Manu, after watching some videos of Marcos Franz singing in a band called The Salty Honeys, he decided they would play together.
On summer they started and they began playing on Manu Roca's garage, conducting Rock influenced on '60s, like The Beatles and The Beach Boys, but introducing some Punk sounds like Green Day or Blink-182. Later, Quim Nicolau adopted the nickname 'Nick', taken from his surname. Finally they found Oriol Serra to the drums! From there, BackDown goes on playing together .
